Chapter 1

Hop little Bunny...

"Yeah oh..Yeah oh”, (Redbone?) “come and get me" started playing on the radio with that mesmerizing Guitar composition.
 
Catherine rolled up and snoozed the alarm. Her eyes were still shut. Even in that half sleep, she patted the bed in search of something. At the end, she caught hold of me, her bunny. I am lifeless, but she likes me a lot. I am a present from her father. So, she always keeps me with her.
 
She wrapped her young hands around me. She was 9 years old at that time. She always liked music which was ahead of that time. Probably a tell on how mature she was.
 
“Knock. Knock” .
 
Her father’s voice along with a gentle knock on her door. Her dad was yelling softly from other side of the door.
 
“Catherine …may I come in?”.
 
“hmm.Hmm..Dad..a little more sleeee……….” . She could not finish that sentence before falling back to sleep as she rolled.
 
“Catherine, we need to go visit Mom Today”
 
That magic word Mom gave Catherine a jolt. She sat up in a swift. Suddenly it seemed all her sleep was gone. She jumped out of her bed and opened the door.
 
While hugging her dad she said,
 
“Sorry dad, I totally forgot”.
 
I can tell she felt bad. I know her in and out as I stay with her longer than anyone in this world.

“It’s okay sweety, no need to feel bad”.

Apparently, her dad also knows her very well.

“I will be ready really quickly daddy. Did mommy want anything to bring from home?”

she asked as she picked me up and walked towards the bathroom., she needs me everywhere.

“Nothing specific honey. May be some music.”

"She gets all her food she needs at the hospital”

"You can pull the Redbone tape daddy”.

Catherine said and locked the bathroom door.

I could hear her daddy pulling up the tape behind the door and her shower running behind the curtain almost syncing with each other.
